Firefox 4 not displaying certain content
On the below website, since firefox 4 was released it was working fine, but since firefox 4, it doesnt display certain text, please see below the two links provided of pictures, one displaying a picture from Microsoft IE, and Firefox version.Microsoft IE (How it should display): http://img864.imageshack.us/img864/7798/ieimg.png
Firefox (It's not displaying certain text): http://img841.imageshack.us/img841/2622/firefoximg.png
Now is this due to the HTML used or the browser?
Thanks
This is a little hard to diagnose from the pictures. I'm guessing that the box comes up blank at first and then is filled in from the server in real time after you make a selection from the drop-down control. Is that how it is supposed to work?
(Edit: I assumed the box was blank, but in case it is "white on white", you could try selecting that area, which would make it possible to see whether anything is there.)
Is there any part of the site that can be used without a login that demonstrates the same problem? (I went to the demo, but it's just a Flash movie...)
If not, you could check Firefox's Error Console (Tools menu). First click Clear, then reload the page that you want to use. There may be lots of warnings, but is anything marked with the "X" error symbol? Then click the link or button or drop-down that should populate the information. Check the Error Console for new errors. Although it's rare that you could fix such errors from your end, it might be possible, or you could report them to the site.
occasionally, my tabs and groups will act strange.
I go to the groups menu, and try to click a tab in a group. instead of opening that tab, and changing the window to that group, it partially opens, then doesn't. upon trying again, it'll open, but open within my current group, not the group it was meant to. the tab however, upon viewing groups, has not changed groups. what? when I say partially open, I mean it enlarges as if to fill the screen like normal, but then stop, and it turns white.I have blurry, faded text in Firefox 4 (but not FF 3 or Chrome)
http://img405.imageshack.us/i/firefox4text.png/Here is an example from Youtube. Ever since I upgraded from Firefox 3.6 to 4, my text is blurry and thin and hard to read, it looks terrible. This also happens in IE ever since I upgraded to IE9, but I don't care since I rarely ever use IE.
Out of desparation I installed Chrome just so I could browse without struggling to read text, and the text is clear and perfect there.
Can someone please help me get a usable installation of Firefox again? I love the addons and features of Firefox, but not if I can't READ when I'm using it...
I forgot to add, I've tried everything I could find to fix this problem. I have Windows 7, I have Cleartype on. I've tried turning off hardware acceleration, my graphics drivers are updated, I've tried going into about:config and forcing DirectWrite to be enabled.
This problem only applies to certain sites (but it is a lot of them). These forums look the same on both FF3 and FF4, for instance. But the majority of sites, including Youtube and all the forum sites that I frequent, have this ugly hard to read text problem going on.
First link from a new page will not show a back arrow or go back with right click command.
For the past few weeks I've noticed that when I click on a link from the first page I'm on in a tab, the page I get to does not let me go back to the first page. The back arrow is grayed out and the back command (right click menu) is also grayed out. This is not true on the pages I may go to from that second page. This issue can be caused by an extension that isn't working properly.
Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
- Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

HELP! How come I can't 'save and quit' any longer with this new ver of Firefox? Does anyone know how to fix this?
When I updated Firefox I have now discovered I can no longer action the 'save and quit' function when closing down Firefox! Is this a common problem and more to the point is there a solution to this?? ie, change settings or some form of patch?? Any help would be greatly appreciated as this function WAS awesome when needing certain tabs kept open.Bookmark all tabs
Ever since upgrading, one of my favorite features has been MIA. The 'bookmark all tabs' is gone and I miss it. What happened and how do I fix it?Some menu entries are hidden by default and only appear if you use the keyboard to open the menu.
You can see the difference if you use Alt+F or Alt+B to open the "File" and "Bookmarks" menu and compare that to what you see if you use the mouse to open the menu after you have made the menu bar visible by pressing Alt or by pressing F10.
- "Bookmark All Tabs" (Shift+Ctrl+D) no longer shows in the Bookmarks menu unless you open the Bookmarks menu via the keyboard (Alt + B).
- "Bookmark This Page" can be accessed via the right-click context menu of that browser page.
- "Bookmark All Tabs" can be accessed via the right-click context menu of a tab on the tab bar.
